A Taste of Africa @ UGA

My friend, Sarah, told me about Africa Day for kids and we tried to go on Saturday.  Unfortunately, I had written the wrong time and we missed all of the performances, but were able to do a couple of crafts, taste some foods, and meet some sweet girls who told us about Taste of Africa tonight.

The middles, Baby A and I went tonight and I'm SO glad we did!  First of all, the UGA student center is HUGE.  I can't imagine going to such a big college.  Secondly, we met a pair of kind girls who helped up find the room we were supposed to go to.  The room was packed!  The middles were superb!  I was so thankful and proud of them.  After waiting in line for food for about 20 min. a mom with children asked me if I wanted the kids to eat and she led us right to the front of the line.  We filled our plates and sat down to eat.  The middles tried almost everything.  Baby A isn't a big eater anyway, so I ate a lot of the food on his plate.  Then, you know Coco. He was out in the middle of the floor dancing before I knew it!  Baby A and I then mingled and I joined some Ethiopian students to chat a bit.  They were so sweet and genuinely happy to see Baby A there.  I hope to see them again soon!

Coco wasn't feeling the photo. Obviously.

It was nice to be the minority.  I hope that my family can experience more events like tonight.  I am very thankful that we were invited!  The cutest thing of the night was when one of the college girls ran over to us and said, "Did you know there is an Ethiopian baby here?"  (This was while Coco and Baby A were acting like total wild boys out dancing.) She was so excited!  And then I got to say, "Yes!  He's mine!"
