College Buddies

We were happy to get together with some of our friends from Montevallo today!  My fellow Hoosier teammate was in town from Costa Rica.  Brijin is one of the most unique, kind people I've ever met.  It was so neat to see her after so many years!

Sandy and her family live in the Atlanta area, but we only see each other about once a year.  Maybe that will change!  Her husband and daughter are great and Sandy has a dry sense of humor that always makes me laugh.

It was great to be able to see these girls and catch up!  The kiddos hung in there while we chatted for about 2 hours.  I appreciated the dads and Avery keeping them entertained!

K and Baby A.  A good match don't you think?  K is ready to be a big sister this summer!  We can't wait to meet baby Lucas!

 

Super Sunday

When you join my love of summer with all of my family being together, a time of service and being with people who love the Lord, and good food you have my perfect day!  After working a hectic, but fun, morning with four year olds, I headed to a meeting with my Haiti team members and Lizzy headed to youth group.  Jeff and the littles went to see Madagascar 3.  Jeff said Baby A sat through the whole thing!  His first big movie!  Of course, he probably wouldn't have done that if I took him.  

We all got home around the same time and I got busy making some zucchini bread and carrot cake while everyone else headed outside to swim.

We wrapped up the night with some bbq and more swimming with friends.  The perfect day!

Our Newest Fish

When Jeff got home from work today he swam for the longest time with Baby A.  I was so happy that he did because Baby A became much more comfortable in the water with his "buddy" in this short time!

Old Friends

We so enjoyed having some of my oldest teaching friends over to swim today.  Beth is one of my first friends from when I moved to GA 11 yrs ago.   We were pregnant during the same time.  Her with John Michael and me with Lenny.  Now look at John Michael (left) and his brother Chris!  Time flies!

I met Amy a few years later and taught first grade with her.  We were also pregnant together!  She with Sarah Grace and me with Coco.  :)  These girls were super sweet!

Ashley and her girls also came over, but I didn't get a picture of them. Ashley was one of my first friends when we moved to our current home.  I'm so thankful for these ladies and their friendship!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to one of the best dads I know! What a great bunch of kids we're raising, no?

Not only do Jeff and Lizzy look alike, but I do, too!  We are enjoying our summer working in the preschool at church.  Liz and I are in the 4 year old room and Jeff got his pick of working with the babies.  (That tells you how great of a daddy he is right there!)

Another First

We let Lizzy ride with her bff to a movie.  Reluctantly.  (Not that we don't trust you Jordan!)  I had to remind Jeff that she will be a sophomore and, unfortunately, we have to start letting her go.  She had a great time and made it home by curfew!  Have you faced this too?  How did you handle letting your child start riding with friends?

She Drives!

After 2+ hours of waiting at the DMV with all the littles in tow, Lizzy received her driver's permit.  I required a strong drink for multiple reasons after it was all said and done.  :)

Art Stuff

The middles finished art camp today at my friend and former coworker's house.  I love art and love letting the kids be creative!  We are working on making our upstairs hallway a gallery of all their art.

THD

Jeff became an official Home Depot Associate this week (he has been contract for the past 2 1/2 years)!  We are so thankful and he really loves this company!  Today he spent the day working at a store helping customers.  All HD associates spend a day doing this.  It was right up my people person husband's alley!  The kids and I were even able to meet him for lunch as he was working 30 min. from home vs his usual 75+ min. from home.  Congratulations Jeff!  We are so proud of you!

My beautiful girl.   I can't believe it was 15 years ago that you changed my life for the better forever.  You are such a blessing to so many.  We love you to the moon and back!

A Boatride

We unfortunately had some rain mid-week during our beach get away.  Considering this is the first rain out that we've had in 7 years, we took it in stride.  We were lucky that the rain stayed away for us to get in a boat ride through the Tybee Marine Science Center.  Remember we have this kid who is gaga for dolphins?  Plus, this momma loves a ride on a boat!  I recommend the trip if you are headed to Tybee for a visit.  You can take up to 15 people, so that makes the cost not so bad.  The captains were so great with the kids and very knowledgeable.  

We only saw a few dolphins on our way back in, but I think this girl gives the trip two thumbs up!

Just Love

My Middles

I absolutely LOVE getting to spend time with just my middles.  They are so fun!  We needed to pick up a few more things for the beach and topped the trip off with some frozen yogurt and live music.  Gotta love Athens!  A perfect way to start off the summer!
