A Big Boy in a Big Bed (alternatively titled A Sad Mama)

Let's begin with today's picture.

 Yes, that is a picture of my BABY sleeping tonight in a BIG BED.  It was the one and only I took because I was so scared that he might wake up.  I know he will be 3 in 3 months, but really, I was not ready for this transition.  

Yesterday, after church Liz came down and said, "Guess who I just saw in the hallway."  And around the corner he came carrying his lovey with a smirk on his face.  This morning as I was drying my hair he came into my bathroom, lovey in hand, and said, "Hi Mommy!"

So, tonight after he and Coco had played "school" for about an hour and after they had shared a bath, we read books, talked about the big bed, sang our song, and down he went.  

Our sweet friends the Gashos lent us their crib in 2002.  Little did they, or we, know that it would be 10 years before we would return it!
