Shop Til You Drop

We aren't a big go-to-the-mall family. In fact, we try to stay out of the mall. Anymore, to me, it just makes me sad and a bit sick to see American's obsessions with material things. More, more, more. And letting your kids hang out there? What kinds of positive things is that fostering?

*stepping off my soapbox now*

But, we have a teenage girl in our house who hearts shopping and the mall. I did, too, at her age! My grandma would always take me shopping and to lunch (my choices-Wendy's ((we didn't eat out much when I was young)) and then Sizzler when I got older :-) for my birthday. I so looked forward to a day full of my grandma's attention-and purchases! Lizzy's grandmothers have continued this tradition with her. It started a few years ago and she was fortunate to have a day with each of them recently shopping and eating out and getting that one-on-one attention that is rare around here!

I'm glad that they spoil her so! Here she is before her day out with Grandma Shirley.
