Of course, it is hard for me to believe that my baby is already 9 years old. Where does the time go?! We celebrated Avery's birthday at the beach. She had an ice cream cake complete with candles. She got a new bike (read bike story below), High School Musical DVD, a Jefferson Dragons t-shirt, and she is going to a week of horse camp on the 19th. We are going to try to fit in her birthday sleepover sometime this summer, too! Belive me, she has been bugging me about this party for 6 months. I don't think I'm going to be able to not have it! It was so fun to celebrate another year with our precious Avery.
Bike Story
Avery got a new bike for Christmas. She had riden it maybe 5 times before she left it on the ground in front of my SUV. Can you figure out what happened next? It was a good lesson (for all of us!). So, we had planned all along to get her a bike before we went to the beach so she would have it to ride on vacation. But, we had told her she was going to have to earn money to buy another one. We bought the new bike about a week before leaving for the beach. One afternoon Avery was sulking saying how she was going to have to walk every where at the beach since she didn' t have a bike, etc. I let her go on and went back inside. A few minutes later, Avery runs into the kitchen screaming Thank You, Thank You! She went on and explained that while she was going on about not having a bike after I left Audrey said, "You have a new bike. It is pink. C'mon, I'll show you!" Audrey had discovered where Jeff had "hidden" the bike and showed Avery! Turkeys!
